Volunteer Help
The outdoor archery field is a great asset to our club and it comes with a few maintenance responsibilities such as mowing and range set-up.
Use the list of open dates, provided on this page, to choose a date when you can volunteer. You may e-mail me with the date and the type of volunteer work you would like to do. I will also have a sign-up sheet at the field, on Saturday mornings, for you to pick a date when you can help with either of the tasks listed below. My e-mail access is on the home page of this website.
Remember this is a club and these tasks are not the responsibility of Custom Archery Center.
Thank you in advance for your help, Coach Lynn
MOWING
The archery field is ours to use as long as we keep it mowed. I would like to ask the parents of children involved in the Huntsville Archery Club to help in the mowing of the archery field. If your young archer is mature enough, they may share in this responsibility under your supervision.
One of our JOAD parents, Chris Olsen, has been doing most of the mowing. I would like to get the other parents of the club involved as Chris's spare time is as valuable and limited as everyone else's.
If we get enough volunteers you should only have to mow once during the season. Also, if you have a riding mower I would appreciate it if you would use it. If you don't have a mower don't let it stop you from volunteering, you are welcome to use the one at the archery shop. Mr. Olsen volunteers the use of his riding mower and it is left at the archery shop for this purpose. The field will need to be mowed preferably anytime Wednesday through Friday and will take approximately 3 hours to mow. During the spring and early summer the field will need to be mowed once a week. In mid to late summer and fall the field usually doesn't require mowing every week.
RANGE SET-UP
I could use some help to set up the targets, canopies, etc. before each session on Saturday mornings. To help with this you need to arrive at 8:00 am.
